The Final Frontiermen

I came up with the idea thanks to stuff, and it just couldn't stay inside. Behold...a scene! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The furnace blew heat and flame into the locomotive's cab, as John and his partner shovelled coal into the raging ...

Re: MURCA: Land Of The Free

Previously on SDNW4... “This is Murca, guys! This is how things should be everywhere!”, he started to talk excitedly, his voice breaking down periodically due to his immensely patriotic fervor, “I mean when I get ready to buy a company that makes more than 250 thousand marks a year, why should I pa...

Re: MURCA: Land Of The Free

Written by Mayabird of SDN Planet Almera, Wild Space Sector BB-25 Hunting licenses had of course been abolished as evil government control so people would have the freedom to shoot as many animals as they liked. Thus, one of the very last deer on the continent fell to gunfire. Jimmy walked over to ...

Re: MURCA: Land Of The Free

Co-written with Shroomie! Previously on SDNW4... “Right,” Chet composed himself and turned back to look at the librul he was about to stick with his bayonet. She was crawling away now as blood leaked from her nostrils and ears. Instead of crawling on the ground, she was crawling on the bodies of al...

MURCA: Land Of The Free

Another product of the deranged SDNW4 STGOD, reposted here at Shroom's urging. Written with Shroom and Shinn Langley Soryuu. Previously on SDNW4... A great many worlds were settled during the Diaspora. Slow generational ships scattered across the Cosmos from the twin cradles of humanity, c...

Re: DEATH TO ELEVEN AND TWELVE!

You insult eleven and twelve, my good sir!

11 is special because it is the first two-digit prime number, of course, and likewise 12 is the first two digit non-prime number (10 doesn't count because we all know 0 is not a real number)

Re: Challenge: build me a mirror Cold War scenario

Can you imagine propaganda quoting Lincoln in the context of class struggle? :D Man, Lincoln. A hero perfect for communist America, what with his humble beginnings as a farmer and with a reputation for liberating the slaves. I'd also imagine communist american propaganda will spout a lot of stuff ab...

Re: Rambling: Society of Solar System colonizers

You can have all sorts of Wild West imagery, but also scifish corporate dystopias of sorts in the more developed regions, including de facto indentured servitude of small "family" companies that take out loans to buy equipment and go prospecting for rare earth and fissiles in the hope of m...

Rambling: Society of Solar System colonizers

I have for a long time now been running an on/off campaign set in a vague and ill-described future setting where mankind spread around the solar system like cockroaches thanks to invention of cheap fusion drivers. A recurring problem with this are social issues, the way societies of colonists are or...

Re: Challenge: build me a mirror Cold War scenario

Sorry for the necro, but the thought of how "American Communism" might look like is so fascinating that I couldn't help but muse about it some more. Now, I seriously doubt a Communist USA would look anything like Soviet Russia - communism takes a disctinctly local flavor wherever it appear...
