Re: Is Everyone Alrighto?
Forums sort of seem a fading thing, to be honest. None of the big forums I used to frequent seem to be doing well, visitors-wise. But I'm glad y'all decided to check in. Good to see you're hanging in there. And this place isn't going anywhere anytime soon ;) Honestly, only reason I don't really com...

Re: Random Ideas X, Random Hard With a Vengeance
We now know protosabers are a reality: https://youtu.be/xC6J4T_hUKg Also, I guess Total Extinction made that call years ago as well: BEAM SWORDS An elegant weapon, the Beam Sword is only affordable to the rich and powerful. A status symbol, the Beam Sword is not to be confused with the Lightsabre, a...

Re: General Info, Q&A, etc.
I just realized something: with the Tyxan penchant for dropping bioweapons, viruses, bio-engineered creatures, and etc onto targets, even doing things like engineering those Tyxan hybrids, what if humanity never actually saw an actual Tyxan? Like what if we, as in humans, knew they were "elf-li...

Re: General Info, Q&A, etc.
That, and to justify the tactical use of small starfighters rather than boring, robo-controlled drones. Starfighters sort of become like gunboats around Jump Gates. How big are they here generally? Oh gosh, I guess about 20 meters in length to take into account the various internal components, stor...

Re: General Info, Q&A, etc.
-snip- The use of AI in Gate Construction as well as the use of ship engines to determine gate travel time is interesting. I'll be honest though, I chose Jump Gates because I wanted to justify the existence of Starfighter-class ships as a sort of lightweight and versatile Gate Offensive and Defensi...

Re: General Info, Q&A, etc.
Heretic, since Hardcore Regenesis relies on Jump Rings to go FTL, without anyone really developing an independent jump drive of sorts, I wonder if you might find this guy's homebrew Traveller setting useful, specifically on Jump Gates: https://wizardnebula.blogspot.com/2018/03/the-jump-gates.html Th...

I keep saying i'm back, and then get dragged into the joint Science Fantasy project my sister and I are working on (with a private Discord channel with other people too). 50 page "Introductory" Bible that is only halfway done and a 50-page story about a boy and his Eldritch Summon, but I ...

Worst part is, you'd think, due to the huge numbers of uber nukes used on Korhal, that you'd have maybe giant cities surrounded by large, open expanses of radioactive desert.
I mean literally, the entire planet was carpet nuked. How the hell does that get turned into a Coruscant expy in just 4 years?

What are they about generally? How "hard" in science are they beyond the obvious superscience of FTL?

Personal implanted windshield wipers and other vanity stuff to make them forever FABULOUS. I love it. Nice idea. Thanks! I enjoy the idea of the Greegs still being a mix of biological & inorganic tech but it's all polished and pretty and fabulous! You're not going to see drippy organics or grim...

Re: General Info, Q&A, etc.
Been thinking a little on the Greeg Dominants but what if the upper castes of some of the various warbands have things like elegant implants that like project a small shield to wipe away any blood on their body? Like this: It appears stunned, Saren sent to Shepard, and began assembling a set of omni...

Re: The Earthling Humans [Gloguk Participant Race]
I love these guys, I particularly liked Scandinavia, there was some genuinely evocative and horrifying stuff in that one to get us to the end result of cyborg space vikings. Europe was surprisingly tough to write despite their small continent size and relatively (I thought) similar cultures. Which ...

Niiiice. Too bad Ardala didn't try to force Buck to marry her! (I read that Draconians and others aren't really aliens but post-human descendants of the scattering that occurred during Earth's lost, nuclear war-wracked years...) I really hope Jornam doesn't job. Yes, the Darglan dying will keep lot...

Solaris. Yeessssssss! Nice surprises. I'm totally not skimming through any of the parts I've already r...
