Re: [NEWS]The "What the Heck is He Doing? + Updates" Thread
Well, the bad news is...I kinda stopped working on it a long time ago. The good news? Ford's post reminded me I've left this here without even continuing it! I have some new ideas that may or may not fit into the molding of OSaS; if nothing else, I have a new political entity that towers above the n...

Re: [NEWS]The "What the Heck is He Doing? + Updates" Thread
05/01/09 Well, I feel like OSaS isn't...doing what it needs to. Of course, since it's my creation, I blame myself. In my honest opinion, well...I think I started writing to see if others would like it, and not to see if I would like it. My writing technique is only causing internal confusion, and in...

Re: Collab Universe of the Sci-Fi Kind!
Yeah, school's kicking my ass, giving me a hard time for trying to focus on OSaS, as I understand what you mean when you say you're not focusing. Sadly, I still think about OSaS all the time - and Exodus, for that matter. And yes, I like that name for it :D Thankfully, I've only got a few more weeks...

Re: [STORY]The First Turn On A Long, Hard Road
************* Karmach found himself sitting in the well-lit, gray mess hall. Several other Marines were together in groups, but a few like himself sat alone. After the unexpected conversation with Cornellis, all he could feel now was the need to be alone. He stared blankly at the simple , black mug,...

Re: [General]The Return of CHARACTER CONCEPTS
As for Iron Eagle, I like the idea. He sounds like a realistic take on 1940s/1950s pulp heroes like Commander Cody or Doc Savage or, for that matter, Captain America, but not going into total "beware the superman!" territory. I could probably use Iron Eagle as an American volunteer with t...

Re: Collab Universe of the Sci-Fi Kind!
...launch failed? Eh, we are busy with our own uni's. At least, you are, anyway. I'm too busy dreaming my OSaS stuff to actually write it :? If you're up to it, I'm still willing to start this - as soon as we get a forum. However, if you're busy, Heretic, I can understand, considering my own workloa...

Re: [General]The Return of CHARACTER CONCEPTS
Here's one that got in my head recently - a slow-aging, WWII vet superhero known as Iron Eagle . Iron Eagle is one of those classic heroes, like Rocketman: he wears a tan leather jacket with an Eagle burned into the back; a simple, gray shirt; black cargo pants; military boots; and a nice, eye-area-...

Re: Collab Universe of the Sci-Fi Kind!
Thanks! And yeah, it's ok - I haven't much time to work on it, since we're nearing the end of the spring semester over here, which means harried last-minute assignments and the like. I have, however, been thinking...and that's always good.

Re: Random Worldbuilding Ideas of Yours
My crazy idea is as follows: The modern day word is the setting for a background war between the Haemons(human, light) and the Daemons(demons, dark). However, humanity has some misconceptions about their place in this universe. In fact, the Daemons are the champions of order. Their chief color, blac...

Nada? Nobody else? Hmm. Well, then.
Perhaps it'll just have to be me and Heretic, if that's ok with him. I'm ready to start this thing.

Re: Collab Universe of the Sci-Fi Kind!
Hmmm...that's a toughie. Honestly, I want to allow for certain things such as FTL or aliens, just in case we decide to incorporate them later. However, for now, I want it to be semi-hard. Artificial gravity, nuclear fusion, and laser/particle weapons are a yes; energy shields, teleporters, or such t...

Collab Universe of the Sci-Fi Kind!
Alriiiiiiiiighty. I know I'm not here a lot, and I spend a lot of time slowly working on my stuff and whatnot. However, I've been talking with Heretic about doing a sci-fi drama collaboration, as posted here: http://www.omniverseone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=446 Heretic suggested, because h...

Re: The Universe Index
Of Serpents and Saints It is the early 4130's; 4133, to be exact. After fuel shortages, monetary crisis, and death, mankind has left her home, her "Cradle", and has learned to exist in the islands floating in the ocean of blackness. The winds of hyperspace guide her ships, and fiery plasm...

Re: The "What the Heck is He Doing? + Updates" Thread
2/27/09 - OSaS still lives, if only wheezing at the moment! Added more story to the Long Road arc, and I'm already in the works for another arc...one with a differing perspective, one that will shed light on what seems to be the minor Avon conflict...and what's really only just beginning.

Re: The First Turn On A Long, Hard Road
Images of the preparation slurred by Karmach's field of vision; the hustle of transferring their gear fromt he choppers to the dropship, the hustle of getting everyone prepped on the dropship, and then the sudden jolt as she leapt into the sky...the images began to slur even faster as the gee force...

Re: Sitcky Idea Stuck to Me Brain
Great! I kinda have myself an idea of a "story arc" if you will...although you could probably call it more of the ENTIRE SEASON arc. I won't be home again until Sunday(aka tomorrow for me), so I'll PM you and let you know my general ideas.

Re: Sitcky Idea Stuck to Me Brain
I figured the Tazans would be somewhat like this world's Jews, except they've managed to hold on to a nice plot of land via constantly brilliant military aspects. However, the turning point occurs when Tazan, in an attempt to deter an enemy nation from continuing attacks on border settlements, uses ...

Sitcky Idea Stuck to Me Brain
This idea, which sprung forth while brainstorming on how to resuscitate my poor OSaS(an idea I love, yet never actually work on), had quite literally bugged me for some time. It's partially Star Trek, partially BSG, partially WTFLOL. Essentially, the idea works like this: on a Terra-like world, huma...

Re: Weird Dreams
You know, that reminds me of one time I was dreaming that I was part of SG-1 - I remember Sam and Jack, I dunno where Teal'c and Daniel were. We also had a few other SG teams with us. We were in this dark, artificial area, like a spaceship. The corridors were roundish and black, with a non-descripti...

Re: [General]The Return of CHARACTER CONCEPTS
Meh, I like the electromagnetic radiation and all that, but I don't think I need anything else. Seeing as how it's a superpower, much like some heroes can fly or shoot lasers out of their eyes, I don't think I should go into much, if any, detail as to how Indie can see the things he can see. Or feel...

That's great! As for Italian names, just search the net. Google 'Italian surnames' or something. :D Maybe he doesn't 'see' radiowaves. Maybe he can just, like, hear them. Hear the buzzing, the static, the radio chatter, seemingly out of nowhere. Maybe if he focuses on something, if he looks at it h...

Yeah, he's like the Transporter, except the Transporter wishes he had those kinda powers :D Anyway, Indie just does things because...he's good at it. And for the money. The money's just a side effect, really; he enjoys any kind of driving, even if it does happen to follow the law. It allows him to ...

Re: [General]The Return of CHARACTER CONCEPTS
As for Indie Jumchum, I'd suggest adding to his profile who he is and why he's doing things. If he does stuff to earn money for his family of orphans, or if he's out for revenge, or if he's a warrior - a warrior without a cause - or if he's indentured because he dealt with the mob, etc. He's like t...

Re: [General]The Return of CHARACTER CONCEPTS
Well, I did post a random character named Fallout, who was indeed a General/Soldier from a self-nuked planet, who was looking for beings that could challenge him as he hunted them. Oh, and lets not forget that he didn't care if he lost an arm or a leg, since he could just replace them. But other tha...
