Re: Random Ideas (Input Requested!)

More concept sketches! http://i44.tinypic.com/2qsayyp.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/w9z38z.jpg And the full-sized versions. I'd been practicing getting back up to speed, though a lot of the RE character influences in my mind should be obvious - Lennox always looked like Wesker or Cyclops in my mind, wh...

Re: Games!

Hell, dude, all I wanted was a nice ending cinematic that changed depending on what you brought into the final fight - like you see right before the different colors go off. Saved the Geth? Motherfucking Prime is doing airdrops! Got the Krogan in full gear? See them riding those alien ankylosaurs yo...

Re: Games!

The Citadel DLC is pretty fantastic all the way around, and almost makes the ending bearable. The writing for the dialogue was fantastic and some of the best work Bioware has done, along with Tuchanka and the ending of Rannoch.

Re: General Storyline

The Twin Galaxies War The War to End All Wars – 2612-2621 The year is 2622, and the galaxy has been at war for a decade. Quadrillions are dead, and the Union government is in retreat, the military in tatters. Grudges tens of thousands of years old mean nothing in the face of extragalactic invasion....

OVERHEAT The Siege of Mars, a Disaster in Two Parts – 2612 By this point, the city had been largely abandoned – between the teleportation gate evacuations, separatist internment camps, and the ring of anti-biological turrets arrayed around the portal construction, Rook/Bishop were largely on their ...

OVERHEAT The Siege of Mars, a Disaster in Two Parts – 2612 Two days before the Fall of Mars, Domingo King – War – launched a one-man raid on an underground CTI data repository. Granted, considering King was a telekinetic strong enough to crater in the face of a building, this wasn’t a particularly ...

Re: General Storyline

Like, a lot. I'd have three more updates if I wanted to get everything up to what I had planned out in the shortest manner possible, but both Overheat and Inferno would've ended up being several hundred pages long if I went balls out with them. Reasonably speaking, I had an arc for both the beginnin...

Re: Games!

Blood Dragon is such an incredibly fun game, but granted, that's mostly because they snuck into my room at night and scanned my brain to produce it. It's the only explanation. ACI is all sorts of interesting to me, considering it's a F2P game with both online coops and a single player campaign. Whil...

Re: General Storyline

Hopefully now I can finally finish up my drafts for the summaries of Overheat and Inferno. The Galactic Civil War Duel and Fall, Conflict and Tranquility: 2601-2610 The main action of the Galactic Civil War lasted only four years, yet defined itself as a proving ground for the newly integrated Unifi...

Re: Random Ideas (Input Requested!)

It would probably be around Chad and the 'null zone' we discussed a while back. The basic premise of the story has Gold being pushed into his role as a MIDNIGHT operative to track down COLONEL HANK EASLY, who's been missing for close to two years. The Colonel was last seen in an arms transaction wit...

Re: Random Ideas (Input Requested!)

If WEU had a team dicking around in Africa during STB3 where the characters would be investigating a huge army outfitting with rogue MIDNIGHT tech, what would the team be like - as a counterpoint to the main characters and say, STRIKE TEAM AKULA (the russian cyborg rejects merc squad)?

Re: Apocrypha Redux

I wasn't really referring to the Beast of Revelation as much to the Jewish Behemoth/Leviathan/Ziz trio. While they don't really have a place in Rev IIRC, they fulfilled my biblical Kaiju quota.

Re: Gizmos, Gadgets & Gunnery

The INTEGRAL TEMPESTs started off in a STB as essentially a bigger, bulkier version of the Crysis Nanosuit (to use a comparison - or the a very low-end flightless Ironmang suit). They're pretty expensive, and around Second Secret War era (2010s), most pilots have to be augmented to be able to handle...

Re: Apocrypha Redux

I will never ever miss out on the chance to insert elements of NGE into anything I write, but the gradual descent into helplessness and madness would kinda kill any sort of adventure pulp spirit Siege was suggesting. Not that you can't mix batshit action with existential crises - see the Rebuild fil...

Re: Apocrypha Redux

I get what you're saying on multiple fronts, Siege. I was seeing any sort of future Apocrypha project as something analogous to, say, Aaron Allston's Future War-set Terminator books. The setting is by its nature grim, but that doesn't mean the plots or the characters have to be - as a whole, after a...

Apocrypha Redux

I'd been sitting on this one for a while until I finally dusted it off and looked at my old notes. And to be honest, of all the old Siege/Arty collabs on the OZ, Apocrypha was one of my favorites. I'd always loved it when Christian angels and demons show up in stories - be it Supernatural or DF. Goo...

Re: [Story] Cold Snap

I had a completely different backstory for Teague with him being born in 1960, but it doesn't matter because this Teague is pretty cool too and I've always liked the idea of Teague and Gosely working together. Plus, I figure everyone over a certain age who's running around in MAIN ERA (the first two...

Re: The United Freestates

Yeah, for what it's worth, going off what Siege said in the Society thread, I think aiming more towards pulp is a great decision. For me, the Gilded Age isn't exactly something I see translated a lot, and I'd love to see some elements of that adapted (in space).

Re: The Society

It would seem that [SPACE EXCHANGE] would lend itself to a long of cyberpunk themes for street-level stories, as opposed to the WWI in space macro-level stuff (especially when combined with the Shogunate's zaibatsus). Was this deliberate, or just a natural extension of a lot of street-level space op...
