Re: Czernobog's Bin
Honestly, neither sound that interesting. They all appear pretty generic and monochrome. It could be that there isn't much to go by in order to form a decent impression, though. That said, the third has the most potential if its done in a proper matter.

He managed to get War Machine on the first go, which left me somewhat impressed. However, I managed to stump him when I was thinking of Sovereign from Mass Effect, though he did come very close (he guessed Harbinger from ME 2 - same race, different individual). He got it the second time, though. Fuc...

Re: Working on Loaded Dice again
This is a tough choice, and it's one I've grappled with for some time. While world building can be fun and very useful (no need to infodump when the background info's in its own thread), I would say that a story would be better in your case. We can get a better idea as the nature of LD in a way that...

Yay, my favorite worldbuilder is back! Looking over your Nova Mundi stuff, I have to say that it's pretty awesome, if somewhat blunt regarding its ideology (I guess that's the charm). It also reminds me of my current work in some aspects, namely the very heavy transhumanist bent, singularity-like id...

As someone who once experimented with high fantasy meets space opera a long time ago, I fully approve of this venture and eagerly await more. Maybe this might inspire me to finally get off my ass and work on my project in order to breathe some life to O1.

Yes, someone agrees with me! :D Some people I knew expressed apathy or predicted a flop when I talked to them about this film, but I was supremely pleased to be vindicated. What cemented the superior quality of this film was how they nailed the '60s vibe, as well as Magneto's perfect presentation. F...

Magister is Clueless About Astrobiology
For my new universe setting that I'm developing, I've decided to have plenty of alien lifeforms, but with the caveat that they be truly alien. In other words, unless they're a transhuman offshoot or designer life form, humanoid aliens won't exist. Unfortunately, my knowledge of xenobiology is limite...

It is the single largest warship ever to ply the oceans: with a full load of 130,000 tons it displaces five times as much as a Kirov guided missile cruiser, twice as much as the Japanese battleship Yamato , and is in fact superceeded in size only by the very largest of container ships. That...

It's a long story. About a month ago, I got a call from Occidental Petroleum, a company I applied for in April for their IT position but was locked out of because of bad timing (the email announcement was a day old and sent my resume on a Friday). It turns out they had an opening for a regulatory te...

@Magister: How's the local economy around your parts, Magister? Is it still bad or showing improvement? Because if it's the former, I say go with the job that you're likelier to get and keep. You could always change later once things get better. Of course, that's just my two cents. Not as good as b...

So, I'm graduating in three weeks, and I've got two paid internship opportunities on the immediate horizon, both of which can turn into full-time jobs. One I'm genuinely excited about, the other not so much. The one I'm gunning for is for a company that deals with oil and mineral management and land...

Re: Random ideas (again)
Perhaps I should clarify. When I say 'cosmic horrors', I'm using it as a catch-all term to describe every hostile thing in the universe. It could be an alien empire that makes Hitler look diplomatic, or the deranged and burned out remains of a once great civilization utterly indifferent to transhuma...

Re: Random ideas (again)
OK, so I've been working on and off again on a setting that can be best described as 'post-singularity transhumans exploring the observable universe and kicking the crap out of cosmic horrors'. I've got a lot of the elements to the setting down, but I'm kinda undecided on how trans/posthumanity is o...

That's the thing, Moby, she isn't protesting against anything, at least anything society would consider meaningful. More likely than not, Contents Under Pressure and Sedition are probably broadly protesting social norms and conformity. Note I said broadly; chances are that each group could spin it i...

While I know of at least four of us (myself included) that are connected via facebook, virtually everyone, as Moby pointed out, is connected via MSN Messenger. The latter is what we used to coordinate things, and it did work out relatively well. If you can't reach someone, then just PM him. Don't re...
