Re: Official Movie Review Thread
The Last Jedi was... okay. Mostly it was uninteresting and boring. I'd read spoilers before hand which is a double edged sword, I wasn't as pissed by some of the stupidity but I wasn't blown away by any twists and lack of revelations as either. The final scenes actually make up a lot of ground in th...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
How spoilererrific would you like to me? I actually feel different to Shroom. I quite liked it. In facts it's about as best as we can expect a Justice League movie to be from that starting point. Half the league's characterisation is basically very quick origins story but they all get at least a lit...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
Ever since the man of steel sequel turned into a batman/start of the justice league movie, DCEU has been a short cut. That's why Suicide Squad was such a surprise and a disappointment. It least it could have been something new and different.
Going to see Justice League next week. Will report back.

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
It was a huge thing, and justifiably so, because Winter Soldier mostly holds up. I do think the final act is its weakest point, exactly because the movie feels the need to go into CGI overdrive with an overhyped world-ending threat that can also be conveniently centrally dismantled. For an insidiou...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
My original review of Thor: Ragnarok. (spellchecked :S) Just saw it. Quite fun but surprisingly lighthearted for a film about Ragnarok. It seemed like a typical marvel movie but more so. The darkness doesn't seem to resound with the over the top comic moments. And I'm annoyed that they killed The Wa...

Re: Weird Dreams
I love that you have internalised o1 enough to dream about it. Do you remember what intergral tempests look like or is it like you just knew thats what they were in the dream? I dreamed a weird one a week or so back. It was a dream about nuclear Armageddon. Not a particularly realistic one. A star-t...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
I thought you'd approve. -- Saw Kingsman: Golden Circle this evening. Very much liked it. It was just over the top fun the whole way. A couple of missteps as others have pointed out. Killing Roxy was annoying but expected from the trailer. Likewise bringing back Harry with barely a hitch. (I'd hoped...

Not out here for a week or so more i think.
Not sure if I want to see it or not. The main leads are wooden and funny looking.

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
Yeah the jet pack Sam gets in Winter Soldier is something he used in the military. Though I think there was a line there was only one left. Or only one that was nickable offscreen or something. That one was destroyed in WS. The ones he uses in Ant-Man/AoU/CW are upgrade ones. Probably StarkTech in f...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
Incidentally, thinking about one more thing: Something that Steve maybe should've done with his friends, because clearly Hawkeye doesn't understand it even after he finds his ass in prison. Isn't that pretty much total bullshit though, coming from Hawkeye? "Criminals didn't used to mean me&quo...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
I feel his action are understandable given his relationship with Bucky and recent loss of Peggy. I can understand exactly why he's not reasonable on that score. But you've proven he's going about things wrong and dangerously. I absolutely agree. In fact in terms of characters I really dig that Stev...

stuff Fuck it, you're basically right Siege. and I'm basically wrong. Whenever I get into this argument I end up giving Steve more credit that he's worth. I feel his action are understandable given his relationship with Bucky and recent loss of Peggy. I can understand exactly why he's not reasonabl...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
In my opinion the proliferation of high technology and enhanced beings would complicate, but not invalidate, this reality. It calls for an adaptable and quick clearance system, not for no clearance system at all. Yup. This is what I mean by 'i agree with oversight but not what we saw in the movie'....

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
Warning! Mildly hyperbolic rant incoming ;) Lol, I should not have pulled on that thread. I get too hacked off. I usually sounds more critical of Tony than I mean to because I feel like everyone's already on his side. I mean it when I say, I can see both sides, where both people were coming from. I...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
why is it that Tony Stark is the thing about this review everyone jumps on?( happened at sdn as well) I guess just feel I wasn't entertained by the antics as I think the film wanted me to. And Pete using his costume to continue heroics and then not doing Tony Stark at they wanted feel like they shou...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
I just got back from seeing Spider-Man: Homecoming , I’m still pretty amped up from it. So it definitely did something write. I’m a sourpuss and loathe to admit it but it is all things considered it’s probably to best Spider-Man movie that’s been made yet. On average. By which I mean it’s consistent...

Re: Official Movie Review Thread
Power Rangers is really quite fun. I can't say the amount my nostalgia and liking for the original is colouring my judgement but I liked it. It's basically a superhero team origin movie. So there's a lot of character work. It's not ground breaking but it's there for Jason, Kimberly and Billy especia...
