Comix Casting Call

Post by Shroom Man 777 »

I had to bring this thread back since I just realized who's just perfect to play the Theozoologist!

Image or Image
TOM CRUISE - Theobald (PREGRIN) "I WILL FUCK YOU UP!"

Because, fuck, I'd pay for that crazed bald Nazi to do weird ass dances in the solitude of his Antarctic Airbase. With an Otto Skorzeny clone watching on as the Theozoologist gets it on.

And there's also:

Image
MORGAN FREEMAN - The Boss (FROD) "Somebody kill this fucker." Since he totally played a badass crime boss in Wanted and in Lucky Number Slevin, but had his shit ruined in both films by total dorks.

Image
STEPHEN FRY - Major Britannic (Siege) "Baaaa!"

Image
KEANU REEVES - The Slinger (Boots, because he does look like ole Keanu - srsly) "AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!" *points invisible gun up and shoots it at the air*

We shall make this threads moar interestings by adding appropriate pictures.

Since FROD once mentioned considering Ulysses Stirling a black man, so...

Image
JAMIE FOXX - Solid Stirling (FROD) “We can't wave a magic wand and get rid of any of these people's problems, but what they want is they want to be heard.”

Image
NICHOLAS CAGE - Mr. Li (Siege) "THIS IS MY MECCA!"
Image
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Image
ANTONIO BANDERAS - Fidel Castro (me) “Is it a man walking on the beach, winking at the girls and looking for going to bed? Is it someone who wears a lot of gold chains and rings and sits at the bar? Because this is not me! I am very, very Latin, but not so much lover.”

Image
CHRISTOPHER LLOYD - Doctor Weird (me) "Ready... set... RELEASE!"

Image
GWYNETH PALTROW - Orchid Mantis (Invictus) "Get me a martini, a dry martini, with lots of olives... "

Image
JOHN CHO - Maximus Li (Malchus) "Dude, we're so high right now!"

Image or this
GARY OLDMAN - Anthony Andrews (Vic) "I hadn't worked for a couple of years so I thought it would be nice to earn some money and pay the bills. "

Image
RONALD REAGAN - Ronald von Reagan "My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."

(I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.)

JAMIE FOXX - Solid Stirling
Hey, that's a good one. I think Foxx is a terrific actor. I wonder if he can pull a convincing accent. :) Also, while I think Morgan Freeman is awesome, The Boss has a physical presence closer to Michael Clarke Duncan.

And I would totally be all over Will Smith for Stirling. He even made superpowers convincing! :D

I like a lot of your other choices. I cannot unsee Gary Oldman as Andrews now. Do more Shroomy!

That is a very impressive lineup, Shroom. And I said it before and I'll say it again, I especially like Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Weird--it's just so fitting!

Although, I'm not so sure about John Cho as Max Li. For one thing, I'm sure he's a fair bit older than sixteen. ;)

EDIT: Then again, remembering that older Max pic I drew, he's actually a pretty good choice in terms of appearance.

Find me another dorky-looking Chinese-American teen then. :P

I like the fact that this Cho guy's most famous role is TOTALLY opposite of what Max is. Oh, and they have similar hairdo. Sorta.

EDIT:

I prefer Foxx over to Smith since Jamie's body is really lean, whereas Will Smith's more... bulky. I know FROD would love for his mang to have sexy chiseled muscles and rock hard abs that would look so beautiful with oil poured over it, since he'd love to run his hands all over it, but when I think of 'spec ops' and stuff, Jamie Foxx' build seems more appropriate for some reason. Both of them are excellent actors, however.

Besides, Jamie Foxx looks taller. But maybe Stirling can say stuff like "Aw hell naw this shit just got real!"

Both of them can act like excellent daddies towards Sophies.

Isn't John Cho actually Korean-American? I guess as long as he's not Japanese-American, then everything'll be all right.

Anyway, I think that there is only one man fit to play Theo: Uwe Boll.
Image
His performance should basically be him doing a really overblown impression of a James Bond villain. And it would easily be the greatest thing Uwe Boll would ever have done, not that he's got much of an act to follow. Or maybe he should just play himself, because Theo is to supervillainy what Uwe Boll is to the arts of cinemah. :)

Speaking of NAZZIES, the Avenging Aryan should be played by Rutger Hauer in full Roy Batty mode only played more as a "Knight Templar" type in a "grizzled mad genius with a plan" way than the tragic hero vibe he gave off there.
Image

Right now I think the best pick for Infrared would be Cécile de France, who contrary to her surname actually is Belgian. I've also heard that in a movie called High Tension she played a very similar character. (minus certain... medical conditions, of course)

CONTINUES!

Image
AARON ECKHART - Wayne Banner "But I guess I like playing flawed guys 'cause it gives a place for the characters to go. "

Image
SEAN CONNERY - Alexander Thaddeus "Your "best"! Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen."

Image
ED HARRIS - Paul von Austerlitz "You call it what you want! You're down there, we're up here! You walked into the wrong goddamn room, Commander!"

Image
CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON - Vladimir Putin "I heard the various terms of abuse at school and probably indulged them in the way you do as a kid."

SUMMER GLAU - Pallas "Can I go now? I'm done with grief counseling and I feel much better."

If Connery did ever portray Thaddeus, The Legendary Soldier, the Greatest Soldier in the History of Warfare, the awesome Big Blue himself, I'd make the operation codename Peppermint Schnapps. Because I think it'd be hilarious to have Connery say that phrase repeatedly.

Nice to see you aren't typecasting her ;)

I know I've taken myself out of the Comix! loop through inactivity, but since this is hardly fr srs I think: Danny Trejo could be a good Fidel, perhaps a younger Danny Trejo depending on how old Fidel is actually supposed to be. He looks so weatherbeaten and rugged. Failing that he could at least be Major Muerte.
Image

And possibly for Lord Caleb Belle (who I know still exists because of the 7 Serpents article thank you Siegetank) I present Arnold Vosloo, yes, Imhotep from The Mummy. Hey, put him in a barristers wig and faux-regency costume and noone'll have to know.
Image

And, because I don't know any French actresses, I suggest Eva Green for Vivian St Blancat. Because she's not only suitably gorgeous but also frequently looks as if she knows more than you and is amused by the fact.

I sense a disturbance... in my pants. A good disturbance.

Goddamn! Danny Trejo is so... OLD. That's such a fucking waste. He needs his own movie, man. I hope to hell Machete doesn't end up in development hell. Tarantino is right, the guy needs to be like Bronson, with five low-budget ultraviolent movies made with him starring in it every year.

Younger Danny Trejo would've been great as Fidel, but he might've been too big. Fidel's firmly below 6 feet tall, hence Antonio Banderas. Fidel's also not THAT weatherbeaten. But Danny Trejo is awesome. He can be a perfect Major Muerte! He's a PERFECT Major Muerte!

I don't know about Imhotep. His baldness is his trademark. He's a capable actor, though. He was totally awesome in BLOOD DIAMOND. And... DARKMAN!

Eva Green is just perfect. She's beautiful and, yeah, she can probably play Blancat's deadly bitch role perfectly.

But my casting choices are better than yours since I've got amusing quotes to go with them!

I think it's because she has a high forehead. It makes her look intelligent, and it would make her look cute if it wasn't for the... well, expression on her face which makes her look evil or at least slutty.

As for Paul von Austerlitz, I always imagined him as this stereotypical Kaiser-type dude with monocle and moustache. Would be less silly to have him look like Ed Harris, though.

It doesn't help that she's showing off her cleavage and her boob in that picture.

Yes it does. It always helps.

I want to cast Heather Graham as someone, but can't decide who. Going about it completely the wrong way, I know, but I don't care. Mal and Shroom have both suggested Golden Girl, but that just doesn't jive quite right with me.

Shroomz have I ever mentioned to you how much I hate Keanu Reeves? And you. Especially you.

Besides Slinger is one half asian. (a fact, although clearly stated in is article, I think only I remember) I keep imagining him looking like a slightly more westernised Future Hiro. (Masa Oki)

Yeah, even his first name is in the native Hawaiian language. And born in Lebanon? How many countries can that dude associate himself? It's almost like Alexandro Jodorowsky.

All these are pretty good, although I kinda imagined that Austerlitz would have a bit more hair. ;)

Not to be left out, I have come up with two individuals that would best portray the man that is Jason Goldstein.

First, there's Liam Neeson (imagine he didn't have that type of facial hair):
Image

Alteratively, the other person who could do some of Goldstein's mannerisms justice is none other than R. Lee Ermey (yes, I am aware he was a Marine. That's what makes it so amusing)

I'd happily second (third?) Richard Dean Anderson. He's easily the best choice of those listed so far.

In the last iteration of this thread, I believe I mentioned Kurt Russel as Archwind, and I still stand behind that idea. :)

Please, all my choices are the best. 8-)

RDA's easily the funniest and coolest amongst them, though. O'Neill!

I'd actually agree with this. I really can't think of anyone good enough to play Archwind. Kurt Russel would be an alright choice, as would Stallone if he was actually fucking coherent (which he is not). Isn't Kurt a bit short, though?

Cause people always say that they thought Snake Plisskin was a bit taller... :P

Finding someone to play Archwind would be difficult. They have to be large and have appropriate gravitas. It would be similar for other characters like Felix or Dmitri Zaitseva.

Hugh Laurie is a good choice for quintessentially British characters, too. And frankly, now that RDA has been suggested for Goldstein, I cannot unsee. And it's not a bad thing.
