Should we even bother? (SecSan'12)

Post by Booted Vulture »

Ok, I just realised... It's only two and half months till christmas! Every year is sneaking by quicker and quicker.

So... Given our performance for 2011, is it really worth having one this year? not blaming anyone, i've not written anything for 01 for years...

I don't know if there's anything we can do to revitalise the forum at this point. ATM it seems like it just the CSW rand0m ideas thread...
Ah Brother! It's been too long!

Probably not a good idea. I still have to finish stories from two years ago :(.

I'd like it for the forum to be a bit more active, but unfortunately there's only so much one can do. We've always been kinda small, but it does feel like there's barely anyone left at times...

Maybe we can start planning for like Secret Easter '13 though!

Yeah, I'm two years behind on this. Plus, whenever I do get around to finishing gigantic effortposts, they barely get attention anyway beyond Booted and maybe Siege.

How about we just exchange SecSan pics/doodles instead.

Just simple drawings of characters from whomever we get's work or something?

That'd be good for those who have artses capabilities.

Though I'd totally try doing a SecSan again.

I'm prepping for Nanowrimo, which I'm striving to finish this year, so I probably can't do Secsan this year, especially since Hardcore Way has been barren for a while, since I foolishly started a thousand unfinished projects on that alone.

While it would be fun, I think it's better to put if off for some other holiday. Honestly, we need fresh blood with worldbuilding interests if we want projects like this to really take off. I think we've become way too complacent and forgot the point of OZ/O1. Either that, or we come up with ideas but don't pursue them. I'd think it'd be both fun and constructive to do some kind of brainstormnig thread where we encourage the formation of cool concepts and ideas and gradually flesh them out. Some might be individual projects, while others might even be something like The Solidarity Wars or Comix. The idea is that we get enough activity to get back to where we once were and attract some new people.

I like the idea of the brainstorming thread that can be turned into individual or community projects. I'll get to work on it later after College today.
