Introduction, Essays, Q&A

Post by Artemis »

What if the basic elements of magic, alchemy, and psychic ability were taught in high school?

What if men in Armani suits traveled to Faerie, to Hell, to the Lands of the Dead, to close important business deals?

What if Ireland was being subjected to the latest in it's long history of invasions, this time at the hands of an implacable foe known as the Swogg?

What if vampires and shapeshifters lived among us in the open, as our co-workers, our schoolteachers, our policemen?

What if the ancient conflicts between the seasonal kingdoms of the fae began to spill over into our world?

What if the dragons of old had returned from their nests within the sun to demand the fulfillment of ancient contracts man signed in days long forgotten?

What if the ghosts of the former inhabitants of Mars fought back against the encroachment of Earth's people on their grave-world?

What if the world was a stranger, deeper, more dangerous, and more wonderful place than any one person could ever experience in a lifetime?

It is.

I must say that this one intrigues me somewhat. My first two question are these;

'Have you written any fiction for this 'verse?' and 'If so, can you link me to it or post it?'

'For the moment, mortal, they find the thought of killing me more desirable than that of killing you.'
'And what are their chances?'
'The answer to that is evident in how long they've been hesitating, wouldn't you think, mortal?'

Only some very, very short pieces, but I intend to write a longer, continuing story featuring a rather unsavory figure who travels between realms acting as a middleman and, occasionally, troubleshooter. I figure that will give people a good idea of what the broader, less-defined aspects of the universe are like.
