Deliciously ironic since the US military requested the Australian SAS to infiltrate Iraq before the Second Gulf War actually started.

No one can accuse them of cutting and running or of cowardice or any shite.

It's just that John Howard, Bush's fellow Rich Old White Mang, has been replaced by some cardboard hippie

Well, there is half truth half lies to the Iraq War. I don't want to get into this anymore as I already been dogpiled (Quit pushing, Siege. It's hard to breath here), but my dad has been there, been through it all (defusing IEDs, going through Road Tampa) and he said even after going through that, he supports it. Then he went through all the reasons why he supported it. Then, my professor-kicking gramps also told me awesome stuff, but it was too complex for me. I didn't harness their facts to explain, just think that I was right. Hence, my Neocon side that you all knew months ago. The discussion right now is me being alone, finding meh own reasons. If I really wanted to win you guys over, I would have asked my folks (well, no, they'll think I wasted my life doing this). Now, give me a automatic and I'll fight the terrorists head on! You can withdraw the troops now.

So this was just a training session. Thank you guys!

*Siege, how many Islamists you say there were?*

I really shouldn't have to explain this to you (but I will because I don't think you get it), you do realize hopefully that the number of terrorists in the world is not some set number that you can deplete, right? You do realize that terrorists aren't a natural resource like oil that there's a fixed amount of, and when the last barrel's been pumped out of the ground (or the last terrorist's been shot), then that's the end of that? You do realize that isn't how it works, right?

Geeze, man.

Getting lost in the media furor over McClellan's memoir is the new autobiography of retired Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez, the onetime commander of U.S. troops in Iraq, who is scathing in his assessment that the Bush administration "led America into a strategic blunder of historic proportions."

Among the anecdotes in "Wiser in Battle: A Soldier's Story" is an arresting portrait of Bush after four contractors were killed in Fallujah in 2004, triggering a fierce U.S. response that was reportedly egged on by the president.

During a videoconference with his national security team and generals, Sanchez writes, Bush launched into what he described as a "confused" pep talk:

"Kick ass!" he quotes the president as saying. "If somebody tries to stop the march to democracy, we will seek them out and kill them! We must be tougher than hell! This Vietnam stuff, this is not even close. It is a mind-set. We can't send that message. It's an excuse to prepare us for withdrawal."

"There is a series of moments and this is one of them. Our will is being tested, but we are resolute. We have a better way. Stay strong! Stay the course! Kill them! Be confident! Prevail! We are going to wipe them out! We are not blinking!"

A White House spokesman had no comment.

Not responding to the attacks of your critics is one of the calling cards of a lame duck. Not responding to the mountain of evidence that invalidates your whole point of going to war in the first place, and being called the worst commander-in-chief in history is...well, you get the idea.

Islamists man. Not the KKK (though I think they are in the hundreds, thank goodness). Islamists. There ought to be an estimated number of them. I think we should add all the big Islamic organizations, and add 1% of the Muslim Population (out of billions). That would be quite alot. No, I don't believe the terrorists are decent muslims, and if they are, they take everything too seriously.

And Shroom, that videoconference was totally kickass. I loved it. I also love Wasabi with toast. With a coke.

No there shouldn't. It's not a card-carrying club with a members list, but an informal group of people that's bigger or larger depending on your definition of the (exceedingly vague) term 'Islamist'. Their number increases and decreases depending on external factors (like the behavior of the USA). Antagonize conservative muslism, and there'll be more islamists. Don't antagonize them, and there'll be less.

Considering what the USA's been doing of late, guess what, there's rather a lot of 'em. But "rather a lot" is about as well-defined as you're going to get with a handwavium recognize-it-when-I-see-it term like "Islamist".
I think we should add all the big Islamic organizations, and add 1% of the Muslim Population (out of billions).
Because?

Because it's Fair un Balanced.

Because it's them and not us, Siege. We have relatively fair complexions and when we talk, we don't say thinks like "derka-derka" or "sherpa" or "bakalakadaka".

Just like if we rounded up the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutherian churches (big organizations) and 1% of the German population in a camp that's equipped with ovens and gas chambers...

But seriously, you are right. And I happily await Russia's ascent into global dominance once more.

I don't. I'll start proxy wars so that the EVIL Russian CORPORATION does not succeed. Sell guns to Achmed and then use that money to buy tanks for the Banana Republic down south. I will not use my precious supply of Jelly Beans to stop the Russians (even though it is more efficient and zero percent casualties..unless you can't eat jelly beans). Von Heretic shall rise and stop the evil empire! :ugeek:

And when I said the thing about adding them all up, that was my view on finding the apporximite number of Islamist terrorists. Man, I want a automatic rifle just in case.

And if all you guys are saying is true (which some I don't think so), I'm Calvin. I always want to be Calvin 8-) He is cool. But then Hobbes is also cool..man

Well, depends on your definition of funny. If by funny you mean lame, then yes, that last post was side-splittingly hilarious. Otherwise no.

Besides, those Eastern European models are way hotter than your American playboy mag girls with zeppelin-breasts.

Not exactly news, but I recently found out what our Von Reagan had to say about W: :P

Beneath the photo from the REAGAN DIARIES is an actual quote that Reagan wrote about George 'W' in his diaries, recently edited by author Doug Brinkley and published by Harper Collins:-

Image

'A moment I've been dreading. George brought his n'er-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida; the one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.'
From the REAGAN DIARIES------entry dated May 17, 1986.
"This explanation posits that external observation leads to the collapse of the quantum wave function. This is another expression of reactionary idealism, and it's indeed the most brazen expression."

Had Alzheimer's not eroded his faculties, had he actually comprehended the coming of Dubya, he would have committed sepuuku with a pretzel.

President Billy Lightning will not be a disappointment to Ronald von Reagan's legacy to the United States of America, however.

Not at all.

Never.
