I liked that movie when it was called Natural Born Killers.

It's pretty obvious that they're going to do the big scene from Knightfall in the batcave about halfway through the movie.

Oh Christ,

It all looks so perfect until Christian Bale does his bloody Batman voice at the end of the trailer, I mean people make fun of it constantly but you forget just how awkward it is until you hear it again.

Looks that way, but then... what is Batman going to do for the second half of the movie?

It's a bit toned down - I've seen some truly great parody voices (the Cracked/frontpagefilms series in particular), and rewatching TDK a couple weeks ago I was blown away by how spot on they are. But from what I understand he's toned it down and most of Bane's lines have been re-dubbed. I saw the prologue, and yeah, the "Gotham's Reckoning" line is a new recording.

The only place I really lost it was when Bane drew out "Seveeere" in his second line. I just can't reconcile his voice with his entire getup.

From what I've been able to gather, he'll be healing/going on a self-discovery journal or some such. There's JGL's John Blake character who I'm putting easy odds on becoming some sort of successor to the mantle in some shape or form if Wayne doesn't pull through/dies after a second time - Batman, as an image - hell, the importance of images is a major theme in the Nolan Bats movies.

??? I noticed like one shot of a foot. Not even a barefoot a stocking one in the entire movie and that added well to the scene.

Anyway the movie was about as good as it could be. Not as good as I think as Iron Man 1 but probably par with the less awesome solo hero movies. There was a decent effort that every one was important and had some time to shine but I think it lacked focus overall.

Any Whedon style witty dialogue was rather in evidence but it didn't get much response from the reserved british audience I was in. Except for that one bit involving Hulk and Loki. Which got gales of laughter.

Yeah, actually seeing it, the only major foot focus was Black Widow during her intro scene, which, admittedly is up to Whedon standards.

So I finally saw the Avengers film.

It kinda started out a bit slow for me in the first half, even with the witty banter. Climax and end were great though. Only complaint with the invasion part was how it sort of felt, I dunno, lacking in how the Chitauri looked. I blame Transformers 3 and that alien invasion flick set in L.A.

Overall, though, I liked it.

Edit: Also, anyone else notice how the Helicarrier's angled flight deck led directly to the port front rotor? I mean, sure, it carried VTOL craft, but if anyone has to make an emergency non-VTOL landing in the air they better hope they don't overshoot.

They can fly with three engines though. So they may just switch it off in that eventuality. And seriously its a fucking helicarrier. That shit can't get a lot more ridiculous :P

Still I can definitely see where you're coming from.

Is there some rule that trailers can't hold a shot for more than two seconds anymore.

Otherwise i like the first bit. With the voice over. Obviously James has been exposed to information about skyfall and they're trying to get him to open up about it with the cognitive response thing and for whatever reason he can't talk about it.

Very intriguing without giving much away which is what a teaser is supposed to do.

At least those two second shots were coherent and fairly comprehensible and composed and not ruined by shakey camera bullshit.

I hope this will be better than Quantum.

But man, after all these years, I still think Casino is awesome.

Casino is Awesome.

I liked Quantum better after a couple of viewing buts not what I expected and nothing will make me like the theme tune. And I've heard Skyfall won't really be following the same Quantum plot arc which is sad because QoS feels a bit like the weak 2nd installment of a decent trilogy. Doesn't stand too well on its own but works well in context.
