[To Be Snubbed]People, Places, and Things

Post by Reservoir »

NOTE: Those I list here will show up in some form or fashion, even if breifly outside of the spotlight.

PEOPLE:
--CIVILIAN
---MATRIARCH MARLENA AVON, of the planet-nation "United Royal Nation of Avon"
STATUS: ALIVE
LOCATION: ELIZABETH, CAPITAL OF AVON

BIO: Lady Avon, aka Matriarch Marlena Avon, or just Matriarch Avon, is the current lifetime ruler of the United Royal Nation of Avon. Like her predicessors, she is a fierce woman of intelligence and wit. Unfortunately, she is only twenty-three years of age, making her considerably young for her position. To that end, she employs several advisors and aides to help her make decisions, especially tough ones. Without them, her rule would crumble within days.

Currently, Lady Avon is dealing with a most serious crisis: when the nation of Burguess landed her colony vessels on Avon's surface, the rival Chinese Shujinko Dynasty felt that it had more of a claim to Avon than Burguess did. However, through a lot of money and prowess, Burguess won over and funded Avon, which then eventually weaned itself from it's mother-world and began it's own history. However, hot-head militants inside the Shujinko Dynasty, still fuming over the loss of a potential ally and colony, felt that the crowning of the nation of Avon was the final straw.

To that end, they launched a trio of well-armed colony craft, and within weeks had captured three large cities on Avon. With hostilities growing and tensions mounting between three worlds, Lady Avon has called upon the AIG's nearby Marshall Delegate, the world of Solcrum, to help solve this crisis through legal military force. We will soon see what will happen, as the story develops...

---AVIATION CRAFT
----HELICOPTERS
-----PERSONEL
------T-320 "Trident"

DESRIP: The T-320 "Trident" is the latest in the long "T" series of military-grade personel transport choppers. Utilizing a magneto-gravitic assisted twin-rotor engine, the Trident is capable of high-speeds and high fuel mileage. Her armament consists of a single, forward-mounted .50-calliber machinegun turret, which utilizes high speed, fin-stabilized Kinetic Armor-Piercing rounds. However, there is also a minigun emplacement sitting just to the left of the cargo door, on the right side of the Trident. The Trident can carry two crew and four passengers, plus one minigun-operator.

"You may never fire a single shot in your entire term as a Common Star Militia servicemember. Some would naively consider that a milestone, representing all that the CSM and CSN are made to be. But, it doesn't mean you will ever forget the things you will hear, see, or do during that time. Cloak and daggers has become child's play, Privates and PFCs: welcome to the Thick...may God watch over you all."

After reading the first three paragraphs I can't wait to see what happens next, and I like how you describe the T-320 "Trident".

Interesting development on Avon; in all honesty it is more interesting as a place now than it used to be.

And whom does the Trident belong to, if it isn't a standardised template in use across known space?

Sorry, I should have made things a bit more specific: both Trident and the Atlas(which I'm about to post) are AIG owned - templates are sold to colonies, but they're just the basics, not the fancy-shmancy military tech.

-----HEAVY TRANSPORT
------TC-400 "Atlas"

DESCRIP: The TC-400 Atlas has been famously described by a Common Star Air Force General as a "beast that could lift the world with one finger and not give a damn." And rightly so: the TC-400 is a massive chopper, with a length of nearly 35 meters, and a width of about 15 meters. Utilizing two twin-rotor engines, which are similar to the T-320 in design, the TC-400 is actually capable of flying with only one of those engines. Plus, the rotors themselves are able to turn at 30-degree angles, making the Atlas a nimble transport when need arises, although serious pilots are needed for that. The TC-400 model is used exclusively for transport of large objects, such as vehicles and heavy equipment, in both non- and hot-combat zones. Other variants perform recon and assault tactics.

-----HEAVY GROUND ASSAULT
------WU-XIANG MARK III

DESCRIP: The Wu-Xiang Mk. III Heavy Ground Assault Chopper is the latest variant of the Wu-Type military helicopters, which are offshoots of the AIG T-class choppers. However, the similarities end there. The Wu-Xiang Mk. III is, as denoted, the latest addition to the Wu-Xiang family. Whereas the T-320 "Trident" is a fast and agile transport chopper, the Wu-Xiang Mk. III is a powerfully swift and extremely dangerous attack chopper, meant for use against heavy ground targets. The main weapon is a nose-mounted .30-caliber machinegun turret, which shoots specialized thermo-barometric explosives, experimentally designed to enter enemy armor and then pop it like a tin can.

On the left side is a four-missile rack of anti-tank missiles, each capable of delivering 4 tons of radioactive molten material into the tank via shape-charged warheads. On the right, a drum of rockets insures ground damage in the extreme. Thickened armor, made of polymers and carbon nanotube weaves, make most areas of the chopper near-invulnerable to standard infantry weapons, save for Anti-Air missiles. In the end, this chopper is flat out dangerous, and in toe-to-toe situations a superior Wu-Xiang Mk.III pilot can take out individual T-320's with surprising ease. However, it's main drawback is the lack of anti-air weapons, which means it must be paired with Wu-Zan Mk. II's for aerial support.

------WU-ZAN MARK II

The Wu-Zan Mk. II is the favorite sister-chopper to the Wu-Xiang Mk. III. Commonly found supporting her ground-assault sister, the Wu-Zan is the polar opposites of the Wu-Xiang: both sides of the chopper are equipped with standard SRAAM, each capable of downing enemy choppers with a single hit. While the Wu-Zan uses a .30-caliber turret, much like the Wu-Xiang, the Wu-Zan's ammo is known as the "Scattershot": upon impact, the round shatters into several fragments, which then tumble erratically throughout the target. The result is severe internal damage to mechanized parts, and the ability to use the turret as an anti-infantry weapon.

Much like her sister chopper, the Wu-Zan's main problem lies in the fact that it covers the anti-aircraft duty so well, it barely has any ground defenses at all. While chaff and her .30-caliber turret provide some protection, a singular Wu-Zan is simply doomed.

------SCORPION MULTI-PURPOSE

The Taurus Enterprises' Scorpion is the Common Star Militia's most common squad transport, as well as the most common vehicle in any aspect. Used on- and off-base, the Scorpion can be outfitted with anti-infantry, -tank, and -air weapons, though the latter severely limits the Scorpion's speed and durability on the field. There are also troop transport models that carry no exterior weapons, but can carry up to 10 people, driver and passenger included.

The standard Scorpion is fitted with a fifty-caliber machine gun using fin-stabilized, sabot-discarding, kinetic, armor-piercing ammunition. This is perfect for anti-infantry roles, since the fin-stabilization counters the often rough terrain the Scorpion must traverse. In the event that multiple clumps of enemies are expected, it can also be fit with a 45mm, compressed-gas fed grenade launcher. When tanks arrive, a fifty-cal loaded with fin-stabilized, sabot-discarding, thermo-barometric ammo does the trick on armor, though you better hope you have many friends out there on the battlefield. And when choppers come in, you better hope there's a Scorpion loaded with a Lance 4 AA battery right behind you.

The Scorpion, however, has two faults: her engine is overpowered, which can lead to rolls and even flips on occasion. And, while she has enough armor to keep infantry weapons from hurting the men inside, one tank shell or well-placed RPC round can remove a Scorpion from service.
