Angels of Ba-kha

Post by Twitchy5[Doc] »

Hey guys, I've been working on this verse for about a month, and I'm still currently building on it. This is also my first verse, so it may not be that great. Alright now onto the real stuff.
There is an energy everywhere called Ba-kha, and is in every living being, even the planets, the suns. This is the life, the soul, but some have used it for other things. Different beings have used it for power, domestic duties, war. The current year is around 3400. The Humans have advanced quite a bit, but it is not the Humans who are the powerful ones. The Yaknoo have successfully harnessed the Ba-kha in the planet, and theirselves. The have acquired space travel and use Ba-kha for travel of long distances. The Humans have to, but not so far.
This verse is still in development, but I've decided to release it to see what you guys think of the whole concept. Please let me know what you think.

Planetary Systems

Planets in BW9 – The system itself contains 2 suns. The main sun is in the center of this System, it is 1,200,000 miles in diameter. The other sun though is in the back of the system, and it is only about 1000 miles wide.
Slator - mainly Treetoo world, used for all Treetoo as safe world, or new world for people. Has a good supply of Ba-kha in the planet. The world is mostly clouded up; you cannot see a thing through the atmosphere. Though they still get rain, sunshine, and night.
Kant – The main world for system BW9; most habited and resourceful, and powerful planet. They are very civilized, trying to kill the Treetoo on Slator to use the planets energy for more resources. Inhabited by humans, though the Frehtar are beginning to come and make treaties, though the lack of translations has made it hard. There have been protests of this treaty (mostly the big wealthy, money-makers) all over Kant, there have been secret organizations that have been killing the Frehtar, this is mostly the reason there have been no agreements. There is one big land mass on the planet; this is where the humans built their city.
Mort – this is an uninhabitable planet. Attempts have been made by the humans but unknown catastrophic meltdowns have happened with the World-Stabilizer and destroyed the human population on that planet. The human population were kept in shelters, a dome like structure, this facility held 100 people, whom kept track of the conditions and keeping track of the WS, more information on this later.
Yiknor – This is the Frehtar’s planet. Even though the Frehtar are primitive, they know there is Ba-kha in the planet. It is their god. That is what life is mainly about on this planet.
There maybe some more additions on the planets in BW9, may add some planets.

Planets in HS1– One sun in the middle, about 900,000 miles in diameter.
Ikeefrah – Main world of the Yaknoos. These people have firmly grasped the power of Ba-kha. This world is (like all the other planets in this system) inhabited by Yaknoos. This world is over populated, though the Yaknoos are finding new planets too inhabit.
Frah – The second world set up by the Yaknoos in this system, Ikeefrah got too populated so they moved to another one. Though this is a more science related world. Though they use Ba-kha, they are trying to develop scientific technology, like the humans on Kant. Though they are not being as destructive with the planet as the humans. They will use infinite supply of energy.
Toont – strictly community planet. Not used for weapons, just for civilization. Some trade with the military, but usually just farms, magicians, school, and society. Though there have been rumors of an organization breaking away from the rest of the Yaknoos, wanting nothing to do with the military, though people are smarter then that, that’s why it is so little.
Brak – This is the planet that the Yaknoos are experimenting on. They do experiments with the planet’s Ba-kha; a latest experiment is the planet resizing. The very experienced Ba-kha holders are channeling into the planet to not only enlarge the planet, but make it stronger, more powerful.
There maybe further space exploration with the Yaknoos

More systems later on

Species

Humans – They are very progressive at weaponry, economy, farms, and government. Though this comes at a cost; the planet almost is emptied out of Ba-kha. The humans have been using Ba-kha since 2056 . It was discovered first by Zachk Mirosenem. He used his invention called the Energy provider; this would suck Ba-kha from the planet and use it as a light at the top of the device. He made it in order to stop the trees, and other resources from being used, though at the time he did not know that this would worsen the plant’s condition further. Then it was successfully harnessed by 3002 A.C., there was first the machine powered by Ba-kha that would do farm work. This was an amazing discovery because the scientists performing tests on it did not know any of this yet. The person that created this device was called Buiop Zernand. His idol was Mirosenem, and devoted his whole life to make Zachk’s life to not be meaningless. After examination of the device, the scientists then asked him, in a very bewildered manner, “HOW DID YOU DO THIS??!!!” he simply said “An alien came down from the infinite space and told me what to do”. People did not believe this and thought it was a whole joke, literally, like he was trying to be funny. The farm machine created by Zernand was called the “Achievement of centuries to come”, was a great advancement in this technology.

So science continued on this, and they came up with a name for this mysterious energy, it was named (by the humans) Treet. They found out how to use it in a gun at 3010. What they had been using before, which worked well too, was a metal gun that shot wooden barbs. Now this new improvement shot infinitely until it hit a life form, which it then drained that person’s life. They would not need it, only if war came. The police force use they’re old design, because not only does it not stop at life forms, say a leaf, it doesn’t cost as much to build it.

There were other inventions made with Ba-kha, farm units, domestic machinery, and more weaponry. People thought of Ba-kha guns as the “Big stuff”, because of the power. So they stuck with the “primitive” guns and left the Ba-kha weapons for the military. Most of the weaponry will be explained later.

What they use mostly for common house hold and other supplies is electricity. There has been a thunderstorm in the south eastern part of the planet since 150; this is a never ending storm, this is where they get their water, and electricity. Humans are also the only organisms that drink water, they discovered this in 3040, when they were feeling drained for quite sometime, for some odd reason, and a human felt this liquid, and it rejuvenated him. The first person to find this out was never really found; it kind of just got into rumors.

The Electricity was used from the thunder storm in 1328. When Foro Tragooh was working with metal and got this zap out of it in the thunderstorm. The scientists worked with this and soon became so advanced that now they have alarm clocks.

What happens there is there is a huge gathering plant that was metal rods that take the electricity from the storm. The same with the water, and it is all drained out to The City. This was first proposed in 1440 and it worked. The water plant wasn’t invented until around 3100. No one knows when the plan first started but the construction started at 3105.

The person who invented the Electricity plant was Toonaro Frekt. He was a great scientist who has been fascinated with electricity his whole life. At the age of 10, he invented the Light Giver, this was his first major accomplishment for him. At the age of 14 he was hired by Electric scientists, and he soon came up with the plan for the plant at age 21.

The government was first formed in 1020. The humans on this planet were very prosperous and willing to share. It formed as a Dictatorship, then soon found out the selfishness of humans, and made a congress that would decide if the president’s decisions were for the good of the people or for himself. If he made too many selfish decisions, he would be forced to step down or be put to death. The president is still chosen by voting, as the world wanted the president to be chosen by the people.

There then came the construction of The City. This was proposed by Gonaka Thyre in 1212. He proposed it to the government as one giant city, “instead of being broken up into different cities, let’s stand together” is what he said to the president. Construction began in 1250, this was going to cover the whole mass of the planet, and they finally succeeded in 1400. The whole world was one, and still is. Now everything operates in The City, even farms. Crime is very limited for the size of the city. Usually if the person who did the crime was found, he would be put in a cell for 30 days and wait there. Though it didn’t seem like a bad punishment, they came out and never did it again. Some say it’s the people who run the cells that harass them, but they don’t, they have even shown footage of the whole prisoner’s sentence, and they just happen to go crazy after awhile.

I think this will be all for the Humans.

Frehtar – Most of the usual Frehtar’s day is:
1. Wake up
2. Eat
3. Worship at temple
4. Hunt or Farm, depending on strength or sex
5. Worship at temple
6. Eat
7. Sleep

Not much is known about the Frehtar’s past. They have just recently come out of the ground. They do have ships but only for the water. Again they are still a very primitive species.

They do not have a government, just a kind of anarchy. Which works well, there is no crime, everyone is very civilized, and they know how to control themselves

When the humans developed space travel and went over to Yiknor, they did have lack of communication, but the Frehtar’s did agree to go to Kant, though after several visits a terrorist group blew up the Frehtar’s home on Kant. The terrorist group is unknown, but there were debates that the humans should go to war with them and take their planet.

More on the Frehtar coming.

I'm also working on a Prologue for my first story, which is going to talk about what happened to the Human civilization on Mort.

*Snicker* Sorry, but Bakkah sounds like "Baka", which in Japanese means "Moron or idiot" or "cow" in Spanish (or was that Vakah?)

NO, I am not being sarcastic or calling your universe stupid, just the word made me laugh a little when I said it out loud.

Try turning it into Ba-Kha or something like that, with the 'kh' being pronounced like the 'ch' in the Scottish 'loch' or the guttural 'q' sound made by Klingons in words like 'pahtaq'.

I wouldn't call a 1.2 million mile wide sun "huge"; that's barely bigger than our own sun, which is a rather small star (stars of getting close to a billion [!] miles in diameter exist). On the other hand, 1000 miles wide is very small - too small for a star (well, other than a neutron star, which are significantly smaller than that). That's less than half the diameter of the moon - much, much too small for nuclear fusion.

For one that actually undergoes fusion, I'd probably go no smaller than about 450,000 miles in diameter (about half that of the sun). I'm not completely sure if this number is accurate, but it should be in the ballpark of reality.

Its mass would be about 1/10 that of the sun, which is going to make calculating the orbits of the planets fun. It won't be a sun in the middle and everything else orbiting it. I'd probably need a computer simulation, or at least spending some time doing the math, to determine what it would actually be. Definitely doesn't ruin the possibility of planets there, but might give them an interesting day/night and season cycle. In fact, this sounds fun, so I think I will do the math at some point later in the week when I have more free time.

Anyway, of course, the easiest way out of this as a storywriter is to just not mention the numbers at all; simply call one of them big and the other small. These details - except for maybe the outer star changing what night time is like - probably aren't relevant to your storyline, so they aren't important to worry about.

"Angels of moron" *snicker* yea dude that does sound kinda funny. Thanks guys for helping me with that. It's weird, because last time I picked a name, it meant homeless person in Korean.....

Anyways thanks for that tip Destructionator on the sun being huge, I have edited it. Also I do have plans for the very small sun, so yes I know it isn't a proper sun at all.

I've always been interested in these type of psuedo-mystical sci-fi settings, and this 'verse certainly looks promising. It'll be nice to see how you go on with this.
