This article gives a brief overview of the augment ('cyborg' in Western terminology) models employed by the Soviet Union.
Combat Model I (1992 - 2012+)
Numbers In Existence: One ('Comrade Hammer', Col. Gennady Muranov)
Purpose: Cybernetic warfare experimentation; total ground warfare superiority; individualized strategic warfare
Technology: external titanium-molybdenum armor on a reinforced carbon nanotube frame; robotic limbs; fully computerized brain; gel-cased carbon steel spine; fiber-optic CNS; electro-active musculature; echolocation hardware; parabolic hearing; integral rocket boosters; taser system in the right forearm; Makarov-built automatic gun in the left; shoulder-mounted micro-RPG; chest-mounted solid state laser; powered by four micro-nuclear batteries; nuclear relaunch generator in case of emergency; SICKLE uplink; full ocular mechanics package
Employed By: 1st PSN VV "Vityaz", Osnaz MVD (special forces troops under the purview of the Ministry of the Interior)
There is only one Combat Model I in existence, that being the very first cyborg ever constructed by the Soviet Union: Gennady Muranov. 'Comrade Hammer' has been the recipient of progressively more cybernetic enhancements. Throughout the years he has always been the very pinnacle of USSR cybernetic achievement. As of 2012 CIA analysts believed Comrade Hammer to represent at least 5 billion dollars in terms of technological development.

Standard Model Theta (2012+)
Numbers In Existence: Handful
Purpose: Advanced transhuman 'new communist'
Technology: data-jack; wireless transceiver; group mind; nano-cybernetically enhanced erythrocyte healing; SICKLE uplink
Employed By: Ministry of the Interior
Introduced in late-2012, the Standard Model Theta is according to the Ministry of the Interior 'a concept for the soviet citizen of the second half of the 21st century'. It incorporates such radical new features as 'group mind' shared wireless networking capability and a SICKLE uplink for maximal world-wide connectivity. Many in the Ministry believe that the Theta model, once implemented on a wide scale, represents the ultimate ideal of the Soviet citizen.
