Re: Unofficial tv series review thread 2
I think Peregrin directed Raised by Wolves cause it's actually batshit insane and has androgynous gynoids that can shapeshift. But also it's actually totally out there and isn't afraid to be ridiculous without being ironic, a rarity in sci-fi stuff these days I think.

Re: Is Everyone Alrighto?
Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing ok. It's been ages since I last visited. I'm ok though. Looks like not much has been happening here anymore, good to know some of you still take a peek from time to time. Anyway, take care and see you around! Vic, Siege and a few of us chat on a O1 discord ...

Sceiren Singular: sciren. Lean bipedal omnivores with large pointed ears, a sharp nose, long digitigrade legs, semi-permeable skin covered in reddish fur and narrow waists with slim midsections. Tallest at their withers, sceiren heads dip forward below their shoulder blades. Extending back from the ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
To extend the analogy, distance didn't stop the Spanish treasure fleets from being a viable economic model for a while. Commercial enterprises could still profit from sending ships across the gap as long as what they were trading was valuable enough. (So, ichor? People? Rare technology?) It still ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
It raises the wider question of who exactly the Indrons let use the gateways. Other Vieleren? The occasional small party of explorer-missionaries? I never thought of the Cascade as being full of influence from the old, pre-Apexaifall K-Zone powers, but it's not outside possibility that there are ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
Very awesome developments guise. Maybe without Indron approval and their gateway-assistance, exo-K-Zone movement would be like circumnavigating the world back in Magellan's days or some Age of Sail stuff. Or some Lief Eriksson Vikings going to the New World. Moving from the Fracture to the K-Zone ...

Re: "The Coming Storm" - "Undiscovered Frontier" Season 3 (Multiverse Space Opera Crossover)
That was pretty great. Though I personally would've thought it cooler if the SW-ness and the Jedi and Sith-ness were kept distant and vague, having it be a second-hand mystique and less explicit was nice.

Re: In StarCraft, what if Earth regressed?
TBH the Terrans as having to make do with such austere stuff, backwater low-pop-density frontier hardtech survivalism style was actually very interesting and aesthetically distinct in a way, whereas yeah the generic sci-fi megapolis crap is so by the numbers and meh - aside from the in-universe ...

Re: In StarCraft, what if Earth regressed?
Some points though: The Koprulu sector wasn't the original destination of the sleeper ships. They were supposed to travel only for a year, but went off course and ended up 28 years and 60,000 light years deep into space. If the Koprulu sector was more viable than the original colony location, it ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
Yes, the latest revisions of the Tsora article touches upon that. The military monks were part of the clash (and they wielded giant cyber-macroorganisms). The defeated members of the Feasts were reincorporated humanely (zigonely?) but yes I like this whole penance thing where reconciled members ...

In StarCraft, what if Earth regressed?
Just a random morning musing. What if, while certainly a more massive powerhouse (perhaps?), the UED wasn't necessarily lightyears ahead techwise than the Koprulu Terrans? It would be interesting how we have a much more massive and powerful empire with overwhelming logistics but without necessarily ...

Do you have any more thoughts on these monastic orders? Good question. Here's some quickly generated ideas: Generally they hold themselves partially apart from the mainstream, so that the aescetic-ness will make them less prone to being swayed by memetic stuff and so they can be more impartial when ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
Many moons ago we talked about Zigonians and how their social order is based more on internal concepts of what's cool and uncool rather than strict extrernal laws. I wonder though if this perhaps their natural order subtly reflects a Zigonian's 'karma' somehow -- like, if you're the Zigonian ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
Hmmm... true, the Reign and the earlier Apexaian hegemony just made them go "meh." Which means, perhaps as the likes of Tweenysex and Samtic oldies and Telestron monks suspect, there's reason to suspect that after the Reignfall the Raptured Lords aren't just coming in and giving out random boons for ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
Where were the Raptured Lords during the Reignfall? Could even the Earthreign back then have kept them out of their sphere of influence if they wanted to? I assume not even the Massjammers would be entirely immune to the effects of the Cataclysm (even if the Lords themselves in their twisted-up ...

Re: Sovereigns of the Stars Supreme, revisited
Massjammers are named by and after the Hirados. The Raptured Lord's gift is what transmutes a Jammer to a purpose, the Lords' transcendence means that they themselves are so detached even from purpose. The deal with the soul that is ennobled as Hirado is part of the purpose-giving, part of what the ...
