Pyrdhan Isles
- The Kingdom of Caledia.
A nation ruled by light-elves, led by the Witch-Queen, whose rulership extends over the islands of Anwyn, Caledia, Abal and Cambria. Their relationship with other nations is often hostile at best, but they are in a state of constant war with the West-Astaran dark-elf nations in what has been dubbed the 'Blood War'. - Free Islands of Pyrdhan
A loose affiliation of islands ruled mostly by táchari and humans, consisting of Aerlainn, and the twin islands of Jensan and Gensan. They are often caught in the middle of the infamous Blood War, though are in more frequent opposition to the light-elves due to their proximity and the amount they've been attacked by light-elf forces.
- Empire of Varanth
A large empire primarily ruled by táchari, though with many humans, light-elves and dark-elves, covering most of the eastern half of Astara, though its political relationship with other nations is amicable, and it has not been truly imperialist for a few centuries. They take a neutral stance in the Blood War, though offer political asylum for any elves who might seek to escape the war. - Ershaan Peninsula
A western peninsula owned mostly by the goblin tribes that exist on the surface of the continent in opposition to the main goblin city-states, which reside below the ground. It is not officially owned by any one tribe, and is officially considered by most other nations as neutral or contested territory. - Gaillan Republic
A northern nation ruled mostly by dark-elves, who are led by a democratically-elected council. They are at a constant state of war with the Kingdom of Caledia, and are therefore a primary combatant in the Blood War. Culturally, they hold strong diplomatic ties to the Empire of Varanth, and it is theorised by many that they would be able to join the empire at some point, if it weren't for the war and the Gaillans' cultural preference for republicanism. - Kingdom of Loklainn
